Grandpa Tom turns 60!

In February my dad turned 60, he has always hated his birthday and doesn't like to celebrate or let anyone know it is his birthday.  So after a lot of thought we decided we would just surprise him with a party as a family.  Brook had invited him to go bowling with her kids for his big day, because the kids had been wanting to go bowling for a long time.  Honestly I don't think we had ever been bowling with the old man, ever.  Well my family drove up to the Burg that day without him knowing, so he thought he was just meeting her family at the bowling alley.  When he and my mom got there we were hiding from him, and I walked up behind him as they were paying to ask if we could join them.  The look on his face was one I will never forget!  He was so surprised, and he is a hard one to surprise.  He was just so excited and kept asking me how long we had been there and how long we had been planning the whole thing.  Needless to say I think it was his best b-day ever.  My mom and sister had found a ton of old pictures of him from growing up and we made him a book and slide show of all of them.  We also made him a book with pictures of him and the grandkids, which he loved.  And Brook found a cute idea of a collage of pictures with all the kids holding up a sign with the reason they love Grandpa.  Maybe now he will like his b-day a little more...

Tumbling Meet

Bailey had her first meet of the year and it was in Logan, finally!
My family came from Rexburg to see her compete and Charlie and I helped out at the meet.  She did really well for her first meet and wasn't nervous at all.  We can't wait for the next meet in February!

Thanks to Aunt Brook we have some pics of the day.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas at our house this year.  We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had breakfast and lunch with them.  Then we got to open our presents together!  It was wonderful to spend time together.  We then traveled home and our Grandma here made us a yummy dinner!
The girls woke up at 7 and were surprised with a Wii from Santa.  We also all got 3 Beaver Mountain day passes so we can go 3 times as a family to Shread the Beav!  Can't wait to use them, if we ever get any snow.

Sierra is 10!

Sierra's b-day was the day after Thanksgiving, so we celebrated in Rexburg with her cousins there.  They went to the fun park and played laser tag and then Grandpa took us to Pizza Pie Cafe.  She had a great day and got her presents from her other Grandparents when we returned!!
I can't believe she is 10 already, I have to keep reminding myself she is not a little girl any more!

Happy Halloween!

The girls had a fun time tonight, they carved their pumpkins and then went out to trick or treat. Bailey was old enough to take Sierra by herself, so that was really nice.
They made quite a haul, Charlie and I have already been wanting to take some of their candy!

Deer and Elk Hunting

Bailey got an Idaho Deer tag and was able to go hunting with her Dad, Grandpa Gib, and Uncle Sid. They hunted all weekend, and Bailey was the only successful hunter. She got her first deer, a one by two. She was so excited and had deer jerky made out of the meat she got. She also got to shoot her new rifle her dad got her!!!

They were not so successful on the Elk Hunt. They took Sierra with them for all of UEA weekend, they saw quite a few Elk, but never got close enough for a good shot. Maybe next year...
