Christmas

We had a great Christmas at our house this year.  We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had breakfast and lunch with them.  Then we got to open our presents together!  It was wonderful to spend time together.  We then traveled home and our Grandma here made us a yummy dinner!
The girls woke up at 7 and were surprised with a Wii from Santa.  We also all got 3 Beaver Mountain day passes so we can go 3 times as a family to Shread the Beav!  Can't wait to use them, if we ever get any snow.

Sierra is 10!

Sierra's b-day was the day after Thanksgiving, so we celebrated in Rexburg with her cousins there.  They went to the fun park and played laser tag and then Grandpa took us to Pizza Pie Cafe.  She had a great day and got her presents from her other Grandparents when we returned!!
I can't believe she is 10 already, I have to keep reminding myself she is not a little girl any more!

Happy Halloween!

The girls had a fun time tonight, they carved their pumpkins and then went out to trick or treat. Bailey was old enough to take Sierra by herself, so that was really nice.
They made quite a haul, Charlie and I have already been wanting to take some of their candy!

Deer and Elk Hunting

Bailey got an Idaho Deer tag and was able to go hunting with her Dad, Grandpa Gib, and Uncle Sid. They hunted all weekend, and Bailey was the only successful hunter. She got her first deer, a one by two. She was so excited and had deer jerky made out of the meat she got. She also got to shoot her new rifle her dad got her!!!

They were not so successful on the Elk Hunt. They took Sierra with them for all of UEA weekend, they saw quite a few Elk, but never got close enough for a good shot. Maybe next year...

Duck Hunting

Bailey went Duck and Goose Hunting with Charlie. This was the first time she has had a hunting license so she could really hunt. She had a great time with the guys. She had her own ground blind and was able to use the shotgun her dad bought for 'her' a week after she was born. (I think he will now forever regret telling me that he bought that gun for her.) She shot a duck and a goose and only got attacked by a wounded goose one time!

Bailey's 13

Bailey turned 13 this year, I cannot believe we have a teenager!
She is getting so big. She and her friends went to The Smurfs Movie and then came back to the house for cake. The next day we had family dinner with Charlie's family we had Potato Cheese Soup and homemade bread. Two days was her actual b-day and she got all her gifts that day. She had a long and great b-day!

First day of School 2011

Today was the first day of school, the girls we both excited and nervous!

They got up well and looked so great for the first day. When they got home and called me Bailey told me all about her day, who she saw, who she had lunch with, etc. When I asked Sierra how the first day was she said they only talked about the rules!!! I don't know what I will do with that girl.

Bailey is in 8th grade this year and she is getting to be such a grown-up young lady. I certainly don't feel old enough to have a daughter that big, but I guess I am.

Sierra started 4th grade and LOVES school. She can't wait until tomorrow when they don't just have to talk about the rules but get to do some real work!

Cassie's Wedding!

Our Niece Cassie got married this weekend, and Bailey and Sierra were part of the wedding party. They were so excited. Bailey was a bridesmaid and Sierra was the flower girl. They looked so cute all dressed up and did such a good job! I can't believe that Cassie is old enough to get married--she was the flower girl for our wedding when she was 5! Now we have 2 Bailey's in the family!

Congrats to Cassie and Bailey!!!!

Sand Dunes

We went to the sand dunes in St. Anthony over the 24th of July weekend with the Wards, Facers, and Hillyards. We had a great time. Our camp spot was right by the playground and was on the grass in a great spot!! The kids liked to go out and play on the dunes at night--they even invented Sand Swimming! They had so much fun and we had a wonderful trip.

Bear Lake and Wedding Shower

The last few weeks we have been very busy with summer activities! We went to Bear Lake last saturday and spent all day on the boat. The girls had a great time and we tried to catch fish all day. We didn't catch any thing except a sunburn, but we had a great time.

This weekend we had a bridal shower for my niece Cassie. The girls helped me and we had fun. One of the things we did was make wedding dresses out of toilet paper. The girls were the models and they looked so cute. We are excited for Cassie's wedding, Sierra gets to be the flower girl and Bailey is one of the Brides Maids!

The 4th of July!

I am so happy to live in this wonderful country with all of the freedom's we are able to enjoy. I was just helping my girls study for Hunter's Ed and the thought occured to me, we have the freedom to do things like hunting and owning guns because we are so blessed to live in a country where those things are made possible for us. I have loved being able to enjoy my family over this holiday and contemplate all the things that we enjoy. Happy 4th to everyone!!!!

This is an old picture, but one of my Favorites!

State Tumbling Meet!

This weekend was Bailey's state tumbling meet.  She did so well!!  This was her best competition yet (she must have been saving it all for state).  She took 1st in Double Mini, 2nd in Trampoline, and tied for 3rd in Floor.  She was awesome!  For Grandpa Tom I am going to post all of her passes here.  Hope everyone enjoys.  We did have a few technical difficulties--we cannot go out on the floor so we have a few people who got in the way of the video camera sometimes.

1st on Double Mini

2nd on Tramp

Easter!

I was not feeling well on Easter, but that did not stop us from having some Easter fun!
Charlie hid eggs in the backyard for the girls, 10 for Bailey and 10 for Sierra.  They had a great time looking for them.

I think Bailey was REALLY excited!

Bailey was nearly done finding her eggs and Sierra had just found on in the Iris plant where it had been hiding, along with something else!!!  A garter snake darted out righ by her feet.  She really did not love that, and did not want to finish hunting for her eggs even after her dad took care of the snake and his little friend that came with him!!

This is how she finished finding the rest of her eggs.  Bailey is such a great sister! (she is also the bravest one of all of us--nobody likes snakes at our house!)
